Care & maintenance

• Cleaning: Clean soon after use with neutral-pH detergent, opening the instrument fully; the long shaft and box joint benefit from ultrasonic cleaning to clear debris the brush cannot reach.
• Sterilisation: Fully autoclavable — process open on the first ratchet click on your validated steam cycle, and confirm the long shaft dries completely before storage.
• Maintenance: Lubricate the box joint on a set schedule and check that the long handles have not sprung the ratchet out of alignment — the lock should hold firmly at every click. Inspect jaw serrations for wear regularly.
