Overview

The GuardON 2 L Square Sharps Container is a yellow, non-sterile sharps disposal container with a white lid — sized for treatment-room benches, procedure areas and clinic trolleys. The base is made from 100% recycled material, and the hinged one-way flap lets staff drop sharps in with one hand while stopping the contents from falling back out.

How to use

Fit the lid with its opening above the label and press firmly on opposite sides until it clicks on. Use the “V” notches to detach needles from syringes; for insulin pens, insert the needle into the notch and lever the pen upwards before unscrewing. For a temporary closure, lower the lid and push on the marked tab; for a permanent closure, press the two central “PUSH” points and then the two side points. Do not fill above the marked fill level.

Safety

Keep the container upright and do not place hands inside. Do not empty or re-use. Dispose of full containers in line with your facility's or local clinical-waste protocols.

The 1.4 L portable container suits home visits and small rooms; 2 L and 4 L suit a treatment-room bench; the taller 5 L and 7 L sizes suit longer items such as cannulas and long needles.

Can the lid be opened again after permanent closure?

No. Use the temporary closure between uses; once the container is full, lock it with the permanent closure. Do not empty or re-use the container.
